On this day in 2010 the greatest heavy metal voice of them all passed away only 6 months after he has been diagnosed with stomach cancer.
My personal memories of Ronnie are many. I discovered him in the early years with Black Sabbath, became a real fan of his music with DIO, and nowadays i admire pretty much all of his work with Rainbow.
In 2010, just a few months prior his death, we had DIO in mind for headline slot at our festival here in Falun, and when the news of his death reached me, i was completely devastated since it was only about a year after my mum passed away, also caused by cancer.
R.I.P Ronnie, you will always be remembered, and your voice will outlive us all.
